THE BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS

No weapon that is formed against you will succeed;

and every tongue that accuses you in judgment you will condemn.

​My wife once worked with a nursing assistant who was taking care of a certain patient in a hospital when a man came into the room with a gun, trying to shoot the patient. The nursing assistant stood face to face with the gunman and told him to leave. But the gunman put the pistol against her chest and pulled the trigger two or three times; each time the gun misfired!

​When telling her story in court, she was challenged as to how this strange incident could have happened. “Jesus protected me,” was her answer.

​Whether by words or weapons, the world’s attacks on God’s people will eventually be beaten down or proven useless by the power of the Holy Spirit. Even the nation of Israel itself, once thought to have been annihilated by the mighty power of Rome, was resurrected to eternal life by the Word of God!
