THE GREATEST INVITATION EVER

September 20 

All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will never cast out. John 6:37

The most amazing invitation ever is the Creator of the universe urging us as sinful human beings to COME to Him and be saved, forgiven and part of His forever heavenly family.  It is the message that pervades the entire Bible from Genesis to Revelation.  Let’s look at some of these invitations.  

“COME now and let us reason together,” says Yahweh.  “Though your sins are as scarlet, they will be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they will be like wool.” (Isaiah 1:18)  “COME to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.  Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me.” (Matthew 11:28-30)  “If anyone is thirsty, let him COME to Me and drink.  He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, ‘From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.’” (John 7:37-38)  “And the Spirit and the bride say, ‘COME!’  And let the one who hears say, ‘COME!’  And let the one who is thirsty COME.  Let the one who wishes receive the water of life without cost.” (Revelation 22:17) The Lord reminds us that we have limited time to respond to His call as He declared for the third time in this same chapter, “Yes, I am COMING quickly.”  To which we should be able to say “COME, Lord Jesus” (Revelation 22:20)! 

If you said “Yes!” to every invitation you received, you would probably go crazy and broke!  If you say “No!” to God’s gracious invitation of forgiveness and eternal life, you will be sorry for all eternity!  COME to Him today!  You will never regret it!
