ALLAH IS NOT GOD

September 5

For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus. 1 Timothy 2:5

You may have heard this shouted in some news report (الشَّهَادَةُ ), i.e. “There is no God but Allah!” But that is not true, like many other reports on various news channels. The God of the Bible and the god of Islam are not the same. The one, true God, maker of heaven and earth declares that He alone is God and there is no other. In Isaiah 44:6, the Lord says: “I am the first, and I am the last, and there is no God besides Me.” Later, in Isaiah 46:9, God says: “Remember the former things long past, for I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is no one like Me.” Furthermore, Deuteronomy 6:4 declares that the one, true God is plurality in unity. The word “one” in that verse is the same Hebrew word that is used in Numbers 13:23 of a single cluster of grapes or one cluster of grapes. It is plurality in unity. The same idea occurs in Genesis 1:26-27.

One former Muslim describes his journey to Jesus like this: I went back to my Bible and I read, “There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love” (I John 4:18). As soon as I read this verse, all the fear I had melted away. The Presence of God was so powerful in the room…. After a six-year journey, I gave my heart and life to the Lord Jesus…. I finally realized that Jesus is God. The love of the Lord Jesus captivates my heart, and I am no longer who I was. In Islam, God was distant, but in Christianity, He is loving, always with me and His Spirit now lives in me.

Is the Holy Spirit in you? Do you know the Lord Jesus?
